Achievements:
Professor Zhang is presently Dean for the School of Biotechnology and Director for the Ehua Institute of Biotechnology. Meanwhile, he is appointed associate director of the Expert Group for Marine Technology Division of National 863 High-Tech Program. He gives lessons in Biochemstry to undergraduate students, Animal Cell Culture to master students, Design and Scale-Up of Bioreactors to doctorial students. Among his students, 28 were conferred master degree, 19 doctor degree, and 1 finished post-doctor research. Now there are 10 master students, 13 doctorial students and 1 post-doctorial fellow under his supervision. He has published more than 180 papers and 2 monographs, applied 18 national invention patents and 1 US patent.

He has won 2 Prices for the Advancement of Science and Technology of provincial and ministerial levels.
