Research interests:takes an interest in the experimental and theory research related to the gasification progress in an entrained gasifier, which includes
1.gasification progress and its simulation
2.flow and mixing progress of multi-phase flow
3.gas atomization of non-Newtonian fluid
4.super-dense gas-solid two-phase flow and chemical reaction progress during gasification of coal.

Achievements:
In his dissertation Study on the Gasification Progress in an Entrained Gasifier, Professor Wang took the initiative in studying systematically on the flow, mixing and reaction progress within an entrained gasifier in the country and established a mathematic model to describe the gasification.
As one of the heads, he took the lead in China in building up the first set of cold mode installation for the study of entrained flow gasification, and thereafter, developed the world’s leading new-type burners and gasifier (opposed multi-burner)for coal slurry gasification, all the inventions with own intellectual property rights. So far, Professor Wang Fuchen has taken charge or part in and successfully accomplished many programs supported by National Natural Science Funds, National 8th-10th Five-year Key Scientific and Technological Projects Tackling Plan and Funds for Distinguished Young University Scholars of Shanghai. |
