Achievements:
Professor Wang is the first researcher who proposed and built the theory and methodologies of block pulse operators and developed them into a novel mathematical tool for systems and control theoretical research. He studied and addressed some hard problems associated with the identification, analysis and control of nonlinear systems and those systems with distributed parameters and achieved success in terms of real-world applications. Furthermore he proposed and built the theory and methodologies of extension control and thus pioneered a new area of intelligent control. In recent years he has carried out the research of intelligent automation and information security in the network environments and has been one of the pioneers in the research frontier of the so-called brain control by means of organic combination of control science and brain science. His current research areas primarily cover control theory and applications, intelligent control, and brain control with its wide range of applications.
Professor Wang is currently an elected member of the control science and engineering panel of the Degree Committee of the State Council of China and an elected standing member of the Chinese Automation Society. Thus far he has published three research monographs and more than 100 research papers in domestic and international scientific journals and conference proceedings. Moreover, as the Principal Investigator he headed and completed the research in the framework of numerous projects funded by, e.g., the National Natural Science Foundation of China, State Education Ministry of China, ‘973’and Science Council of the Shanghai municipal government.
Awards:
Prof. Wang is recipient of the 1st-class prize, 2nd-class prize (twice), and the 3rd-class prize for scientific and technological development of the State Education Ministry, the 1st-class prize for scientific and technological development of the State Chemical Ministry, and the 2nd-class prize for national scientific and technological development. He was recipient of the prestigious honor for Middle-aged and Young Experts with Outstanding Contributions from the State Personnel Ministry of China.
