   Achievements:

   Shen Yinchu, a specialist of biochemical technology. Aftergraduation in 1962. he entered the post-graduate course at Fudan GeneticResearch Institute. Since 1964, he has been working in the Shanghai PesticideResearch Institute and Shanghai Research Center of Biochemical Technology of theMinistry of Chemical Industry. He is now the Vice Director of the BiochemicalEngineering Society of China. Prof. Shen Yinchu has long been engaging in the research anddevelopment of biochemical engineering and bio-pesticide, and has made importantcontributions. During 1968~1978, he discovered and developed jingantoyanwhich is the first kind of new bio-pesticide of high effect and safe toenvironment. Owing to this research result, over 30 factories were built up.Afterwards, he successfully developed a few bio-miticide and bio-insecticide,which became main bio-pesticides in China, and achieved great economicbenefits. In 1980s, he and his co-operators accomplished research toproduce acrylamide by microbial catalytic method and established the first plantusng bio-technology to produce basic chemical material. This achievement createda precedent for bio-catalytic technology applied in the field of basic chemicalindustry in China. He had won the First Grade Shanghai Municipal Award for Progress in Science and Technology for three times, a First grade Ministerial Award for Progress in Science and Technology, as well as a Third Grade National Invention Award and second grade National Award for progress in Science and Technology for two times.
