报告摘要:

Platinumgroup metal (PGM) catalysts are the current standard for control of pollutantsin automotive exhaust streams. In spite of their high cost, PGM catalystsexhibit low catalytic activities for CO oxidation at low temperatures (<200°C) because of inhibition by hydrocarbons in exhaust streams. Here we presentnanostructured ternary and high entropy oxide catalysts that potentiallyoutperform commercial PGM catalysts for CO oxidation in simulated exhauststreams and other energy-related oxidative catalysis reactions. The synthesisstrategies toward various nanostructured multi-component oxide catalysts aswell as that using the entropy maximization will be discussed. In conclusion, these nanostructured multi-component oxide catalysts show great potential as alow-cost component for various low-temperature oxidative processes.
