On November 9, 2023, Carolyn Evans, President of Griffith University in Australia, and Sarah Todd, Vice President of Griffith University, paid a visit to ECUST. Xuan Fuzhen, President of ECUST, met with the Australian guests and signed the Memorandum of Understanding on Cooperation.

The two universities had a solid foundation for cooperation. The signing of the Memorandum of Understanding on Cooperation marked a new starting point for the formal establishment of friendly and mutually beneficial cooperative relations, and also served as an important bond for mutual learning, inclusiveness and exchanges between Chinese and Australian education sectors.

It was hoped that on the basis of deepening scientific research cooperation in the field of new materials, the two sides would further expand cooperation areas, elevate cooperation levels, strengthen the cultivation of students’ international competence, and promote the pragmatic development of China-Australia educational cooperation. It was also hoped that the two universities would take the signing of the memorandum as an opportunity to further deepen academic exchanges and cooperation in the fields of life and health and new materials, and actively promote teacher and student exchanges to advance wide-ranging and multi-level cooperation.

The two sides also reached preliminary cooperation intentions on scientific research in the field of intelligent biomanufacturing, international undergraduate multi-degree training programs, and joint doctoral training.‍
