Headed by Hiroshi Sakuragi, Vice President of Osaka Metropolitan University, the Japanese delegation paid a visit to ECUST on December 9, 2024. Zhu Weihong, Vice President of ECUST, met with the Japanese guests, and both sides exchanged views on consolidating existing cooperation and deepening the partnership between the two universities.

During the meeting, both sides noted that the two universities had actively engaged in multi-level cooperation in fields such as photocatalysis, with a solid foundation and distinctive features over the previous two decades. Comprehensively implementing the “Two New & Two Great” Initiative, namely New Energy, New Materials, Great Health, and Great Safety Initiative, ECUST hoped to strengthen interactions and elevate cooperation in broader areas such as biomedicine and green energy, and aimed to deepen bilateral cooperation and promote high-quality development of both universities.

During the meeting, the two sides discussed joint student training and the JMD international joint degree program, agreeing to advance practical cooperation promptly. During the visit, Sakuragi and his delegation also visited the Feringa Nobel Prize Scientists Joint Research Center at ECUST.
