Front Cover Article in Science China Materials Highlights ECUST Breakthrough in Combating Drug-Resistant Bacteria in Aquaculture
Recently, the research group led by Prof. Liu Runhui from the School of Materials Science and Engineering, ECUST, reported a synergistic combination therapy of an HDP-mimicking polymer and rifampicin. This therapy was co-encapsulated into cell-penetrating peptide-modified liposomes and successfully applied for oral treatment of Vibrio infections in fish. The research article titled “Liposome of a synergistic combination of HDP-mimicking polymer and rifampicin for treating bacterial infections in aquaculture via oral administration”, was published in Science China Materials and selected as the Front Cover Article of the current issue.
This article is first authored by Yu Haowen (Master’s student, School of Materials Science and Engineering) and co-corresponding authored by Wu Yueming (Specially Appointed Associate Researcher) and Prof. Liu Runhui. The research was funded by the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC) and the Ministry of Science and Technology of China.
