Established in 1989 and reorganized in December 2022, the State Key Laboratory of Industrial Control Technology (SKLICT) was co-founded by Zhejiang University, East China University of Science and Technology, and Zhejiang SUPCON Technology Co., Ltd.
As the cradle of technological innovation for China’s high-end industrial control equipment and systems, the Laboratory has developed an independently controllable technological and equipment system in industrial control while establishing a comprehensive industrial coverage system.

Professor Wenli DU serves as Deputy Director of the SKLICT. The Laboratory currently recruits 25 permanent researchers, including:
Academicians of the Chinese Academy of Engineering;
Recipients of the National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars;
Awardees of the National High-Level Overseas Talent Recruitment Program;
Leaders selected for the “National Ten Thousand Talents Plan” in Scientific Innovation;
Winners of the National Science Fund for Excellent Young Scholars.
The Laboratory has made contributions to the industrial modernization of China. Its work has been honored with 5 National Science and Technology Progress Prizes (Second Class) and 18 provincial and ministerial-level prizes (First Class).
The Laboratory confronts scientific challenges and technological bottlenecks in high-end autonomous control equipment, reliable core industrial control software, and secure industrial control networks.

It aims to achieve technological independence, security credibility, and surpassing capabilities in high-end control systems. Its objectives include deep transformation of imported industrial control systems, iterative upgrades of domestic operational control networks, and frontier leadership in next-generation high-end control equipment.
By supporting comprehensive localization of critical control systems in major national projects, it resolves urgent national security imperatives and strategic vulnerabilities. Committed to forging world-class strategic scientific capabilities, the Laboratory strives to establish itself as an internationally leading research hub.
