This book series is grounded in the theories of public economics and public management, with the goal of constructing a social governance framework characterized by joint contribution, shared governance, and shared benefits. Focusing on innovative practices in urban governance of public economy and society in the Yangtze River Delta region, particularly in Shanghai, the series adopts an interdisciplinary approach to explore public economics and social governance. It addresses three themes:
First, it studies the fundamental theories of public economic sector development and their application in China.
Second, it examines new approaches and forms of public economics and social governance under new technological conditions.
Third, it conducts empirical research on practices with Chinese characteristics in areas such as public infrastructure, public services, and community-level governance.
The series places special emphasis on institutional mechanisms for urban provision of public goods, innovative models of social governance, and key urban issues that urgently need to be addressed, including public safety, infrastructure, and environmental pollution.
