
ECUST CPC Party Secretary Jiang Chuanhai Leads Delegation to Visit Italy and the UK, Promoting High-Quality Development of International Exchange and Cooperation
Recently, at the invitation of partner institutions, ECUST CPC Party Secretary Jiang Chuanhai led a delegation to visit Italy and the United Kingdom. Focusing on areas such as the independent cultivation of international innovative talents, collaborative research in key fields, and deep integration of industry, academia, research, and application, the delegation engaged in pragmatic exchanges with multiple high-level universities and institutions, promoting the external cooperation and open education landscape of ECUST.

University of Liverpool Vice-Chancellor Professor Tim Jones and Deputy Vice-Chancellor Professor Tariq Ali warmly met with Secretary Jiang Chuanhai and his delegation. Both sides reviewed the fruitful cooperation achievements in the field of new material applications since 2016, facilitated by the Nobel Prize Center. Based on a solid cooperative foundation and shared development vision, the two sides signed a new Memorandum of Understanding to jointly prepare for the establishment of a Joint Research Center. This will further integrate the advantageous resources of both universities in fields such as clean energy, urban planning, and social governance, propelling cooperation to a new level.
During their stay in Milan, Italy, the delegation held working meetings with former President of the Politecnico di Milano Foundation Professor Andrea Narnasi and President of the Milano Design Institute Anna Barbara, among others. Based on years of solid cooperation in fields such as information engineering, management, and design, the two sides reached new consensus on jointly advancing a DBA program. They expressed their commitment to closely aligning with Shanghai’s strategic goal of building a globally influential science and innovation center, leveraging their respective disciplinary strengths to strengthen collaborative innovation integrating industry, academia, research, and application in key frontier areas such as chemistry and new energy.
At the Oxford University Institute for Global Development and Prospects, Secretary Jiang Chuanhai discussed topics such as cultivating outstanding talents and building base classes with Dean Wang Shidong. He invited more British students to participate in programs like “YES” and “High-Level Workshops” in China, using youth exchanges to enhance understanding and solidify mutual trust. At the University of Huddersfield, Secretary Jiang Chuanhai and Vice-Chancellor Professor Bob Cryan signed a Memorandum of Understanding, appointing the latter as a member of ECUST’s International Cooperation and Exchange Advisory Committee.
