ECUST Signed Strategic Cooperation Framework Agreement with Yangpu District

Recently, ECUST signed a strategic cooperation framework agreement with the People’s Government of Yangpu District. The signing ceremony was chaired by Rong Zhou, Deputy Secretary of Yangpu District Committee. Chuanhai Jiang, Party Secretary of ECUST, and Kan Xue, Secretary of Yangpu District Committee, attended the signing ceremony and delivered remarks. Senior district officials and university executives attended the meeting.

Jiang noted that the two sides have established a solid foundation for cooperation, with notable achievements in recent years in areas such as science and technology innovation services, sharing of educational resources, and joint Party-building initiatives. 

In line with the national goal of building a strong education system by 2035 and the construction of Shanghai Science and Technology Innovation Center, ECUST has been advancing its development strategy featuring modernization, digital and intelligent transformation, green development, and internationalization. 

ECUST has also been strengthening its strategic layout in new energy, new materials, comprehensive healthcare, and national security sectors,, which aligns closely with Yangpu’s industrial upgrading and innovation ecosystem. 

Taking this agreement as a new starting point, the university will further align with the “1+2+3+4” innovation-oriented modern industrial system and the development of the Fuxing Island International Innovation and Entrepreneurship Cluster Zone, and promote the integration of technological and industrial innovation.

Xue stated that the district and the university share a long-standing partnership with fruitful results. The signing of this agreement marks an important step in elevating cooperation to a higher level and promoting high-quality development. 

The two sides will work together to contribute to the development of the Shanghai International Science and Technology Innovation Center. At the same time, both sides will deepen collaboration in public services and social governance, improve mechanisms for project implementation, Party-building cooperation, and talent exchange, and set a new benchmark for district-university collaboration.

Under mutual witness, Huifeng Wang and Jinyuan Liu signed the agreement on behalf of ECUST and Yangpu District People’s Government respectively. According to the agreement, the two sides will deepen strategic cooperation in areas including Party-building collaboration, innovation capacity building, commercialization of scientific and technological achievements, industry-education integration, and talent exchange.
