
ECUST and SINOPEC Engineering Group Signed MOU to Establish an International Student Internship Base
Recently, ECUST and SINOPEC Engineering Group Co., Ltd. officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to establish an international student internship and practice base. In collaboration with Saudi Aramco, the three parties will jointly build an integrated international education platform that provides internship and training opportunities for international students and cultivates versatile talents with professional expertise and a global perspective.
Wenli Du (Member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee and Vice President of ECUST), Xinming Zhang (Executive Director and General Manager from SINOPEC Engineering Group), Yu Sha (Director from SINOPEC Shanghai Engineering Co., Ltd.), and Abdullah AlHathloul (Director of Training & Development from Saudi Aramco Asia) attended the signing ceremony, marking a new milestone in trilateral collaboration on international talent cultivation.

Wenli Du stated in her speech that the cooperation between ECUST and SINOPEC has a long history. Over a period of more than 40 years, the two sides worked together to create a collaborative innovation model based on university-enterprise cooperation and market orientation. She noted that the signing of this MOU marked a new stage in international talent cultivation. ECUST would take this opportunity to deepen practical cooperation and build a new benchmark for industry-education integration, university-enterprise synergy, and international collaboration.
Xinming Zhang mentioned that ECUST provided technical backbone and management talent for SINOPEC over the years. He expressed hope that the MOU would serve as a good start for international talent cultivation. Yu Sha praised the achievements of ECUST in discipline development and talent cultivation. Abdullah AlHathloul stated that Saudi Aramco maintained a solid foundation of cooperation with both ECUST and SINOPEC, and that the MOU would inject fresh momentum into international talent training and technical exchange between the two countries.
As one of the most active Chinese universities in the Middle East, ECUST has continuously expanded its international education initiatives. The signing of this MOU is an important measure to implement the national opening-up strategy and deepen international cooperation. In the future, ECUST will work closely with SINOPEC and Saudi Aramco to establish a new model for international talent cultivation, university-enterprise collaboration and global partnership, contributing to China-Arab friendship and cooperation.
