Ting Wu, Associate Professor and Deputy Party Secretary of the School of Sports Science and Engineering, has been honored as one of ECUST’s 2026 “My Favorite Teachers”. With more than 20 years of dedicated engagement in student cultivation, she consistently upholds the fundamental educational mission of fostering virtue. She integrates professional sports education with moral guidance, dedicating herself to supporting and empowering generations of students in their all-round development.

As an educator who combines theoretical research with practical teaching, Wu has attained academic and professional achievements. She has received numerous national and municipal awards, including the second prize in the National College Counselor Competency Competition, the first prize in the National Selection of Distinguished Papers by College Counselors.

She has presided over key educational research projects funded by the Ministry of Education. Moreover, the “Huan-Ran” Counselor Wellness Studio she initiated was recognized as one of the first counselor studios in Shanghai, providing professional psychological and physical health guidance for faculty and students across the campus.

Recognizing the challenge student-athletes face in balancing intensive training with academic demands, Wu has developed a systematic and tailored growth framework that helps them pursue excellence in both athletics and academics.

With her patient guidance and tailored support, many students who doubted themselves have made progress in both their studies and athletic pursuits. She has also introduced innovative programs such as “Champion Lectures,” inviting accomplished athletes and alumni to share their experiences and inspire students with the values of sportsmanship, perseverance, and patriotism.

Committed to promoting a culture of fitness for all, Wu has introduced a range of accessible sports activities, including table tennis tournaments in student communities and fitness activities inspired by traditional Chinese solar terms. These initiatives encourage teachers and students to make sports part of their everyday lives rather than viewing them solely as competitive pursuits. Through two decades of dedication, care, and companionship, Wu has earned the trust and affection of her students.
