Recently, the 2026 Sixth Shanghai Youth Fitness and Bodybuilding Championships and the Fourth Shanghai Youth Fitness Open, organized by the Shanghai Fitness and Bodybuilding Association, were held successfully.
Kaiyue Zhang, an undergraduate at the School of Social and Public Administration, delivered a performance. She won first place in both the Youth Bikini Fitness Open and the University Students’ Bikini Fitness Open, bringing two championship titles to ECUST.

The competition brought together fitness and bodybuilding enthusiasts from universities across Shanghai. The competition tested not only contestants’ physique development but also their stage presence and mental composure.
Zhang’s achievements reflected her consistent training and preparation, as well as the dedicated guidance of coaches Lingxia Chen and Qinhua Xu. Throughout the training period, they provided comprehensive support, offering professional advice on physique development, posing techniques, stage walking, nutrition planning, and mental preparation. Their meticulous coaching helped Zhang refine every detail and reach peak competitive form.
At ECUST, fitness and bodybuilding are more than just physical aesthetics. They also cultivate perseverance, discipline, and resilience. The bodybuilding team promotes a scientific approach to fitness, encouraging students to train safely and responsibly while developing healthy lifestyles and strong character. Through its activities, the team hopes to inspire more students to step beyond the classroom and experience the benefits of strength training.
Looking ahead, the ECUST Bodybuilding Team will continue to promote scientific fitness, encourage students to build both physical strength and mental resilience, and inspire young people to pursue excellence with confidence and determination.
