On October 16th, ECUST launched its new English website, offering international audiences a refreshed way to explore the university. To strengthen ECUST’s communication with the world, the Publicity Department led efforts to revamp English websites at both the university and school levels. The department worked with the Office of International Cooperation and Exchange, the Office of Strategic Development and Planning, and the College of International Education to gather feedback through surveys and discussions with information officers, international students, and faculty members.

Drawing on benchmarks from leading universities and the needs of diverse readers, including international students, scholars, partners, collaborators, alumni and friends, as well as institutions, media, and the public, the new website is designed as an portal that combines visual appeal with rich content.

The new website follows a user-oriented approach. It features core sections such as “About,” “Admission,” “Research,” “Global,” “News & Events,” and “Campus Life,” with clear navigation and search function. Interactive modules for online applications, job postings, and social media make it easier for visitors to interact with ECUST and explore opportunities for cooperation. Responsive design ensures a smooth browsing experience across computers, smartphones, and tablets.

Visual and content design highlights what makes ECUST distinctive. The homepage features high-resolution images and video carousels showcasing campus scenery, major events, and research achievements. News & Events focuses on highlights and research progress with rich visuals. Discovery ECUST uses visualizations and interactive elements to showcase major achievements, research centers, and key laboratories. Campus Life presents the academic calendar, student activities, campus map, and facilities in a calendar-style layout. Global displays international cooperation programs, global partners, and services for international students, highlighting international partnerships and global reach.
In addition, ECUST is developing a coordinated system of English websites for its schools and departments. So far, 16 units, including the Institute of Science and Technology Development, the School of Chemical Engineering, the School of Information Science and Engineering, and the School of Foreign Languages, have received funding for website upgrades. The university has also issued management guidelines to ensure timely content updates.
The new website marks another step in ECUST’s efforts to strengthen its international presence. Going forward, the university will continue to improve communication with global audiences and share its educational and research achievements with the world.
