​In April 2024, led by Li Xiaopeng, Dean of the College of International Education, the international student recruitment team of ECUST conducted student enrollment promotion activities in Indonesia, Singapore, and Malaysia. The team organized two JMD Program seminars in Jakarta and Surabaya and visited several elite local high schools to explore future cooperation.

Tian Ye, Director of the Chinese Language Center at the College of International Education, attended the 2nd International Higher Education Exhibition in Bahrain from April 21 to 22, 2024. ECUST was the only Chinese higher education institute with a dedicated booth. Liu Qing, Counselor of the Chinese Embassy in Bahrain, visited the booth and provided guidance on fostering educational cooperation between ECUST and Bahraini institutions.

Led by Wang Li, Vice Dean of the School, and student counselor Gu Yuan, 30 students from the 2021 cohort of the Sino-German Cooperative Education Program of the International Elite Engineer School departed for Lübeck University of Applied Sciences in Germany for their second phase of study and the they successfully completed the student registration and orientation from March 14th to 17th, 2024. ​From January 28 to February 1, 2025, headed by Huang Jie, Director of the Academic Affairs Office, the ECUST delegation paid a visit to the University of Birmingham to discuss deepening cooperation in the International Joint Multi-degree Program (JMD). The delegation also met with Professor Zhang Zhibin, a Fellow of the Royal Academy of Engineering and an ECUST alumnus.

On November 9, 2023, Carolyn Evans, President of Griffith University in Australia, and Sarah Todd, Vice President of Griffith University, paid a visit to ECUST. Xuan Fuzhen, President of ECUST, met with the Australian guests and signed the Memorandum of Understanding on Cooperation.

Recently, a British delegation headed by Alistair Sambell, Vice Chancellor of the University of Huddersfield, paid a visit to ECUST. Yan Haifeng, Vice President of ECUST, met with the British guests and presided over the talks. Li Xiaopeng, Dean of the College of International Education, Tang Jimin, Deputy Director of the Office of International Cooperation and Exchange, and Zhao Wei, Associate Professor of the School of Foreign Languages, also attended the meeting.

Recently, China’s first large-scale homegrown wet air oxidation (WAO) unit for sulfur-containing waste lye was successfully put into operation at Sinopec Zhenhai Refining & Chemical Company. The unit was jointly developed by ECUST and China Petroleum & Chemical Corporation.
