Recently, a team led by Academician He Tian and Professor Xiang Ma at the Feringa Nobel Prize Scientist Joint Research Center, School of Chemistry and Molecular Engineering, ECUST, developed a series of high-performance, multifunctional noncovalent biomolecular glasses exhibiting room-temperature phosphorescence (RTP).

Recently, the research team led by Dahui Qu and Fei Tong at the Feringa Nobel Prize Scientists Joint Research Center, School of Chemistry and Molecular Engineering, has made new progress in dynamic photoresponsive molecular crystal materials. The related findings, entitled “Multi-Chamber Dynamic Molecular Crystal Microcapsules for Payload Encapsulation and Controlled Release”, have been published in the Journal of the American Chemical Society (J. Am. Chem. Soc.

Recently, six research advances from around the world that could potentially transform the field of drug delivery were reported in Nature Outlook, titled “These six advances could change how drugs are delivered” (Nature, 2026, 657, S2-S3).

Recently, Academician Weihong Zhu and Professor Zhiqian Guo from the School of Chemistry and Molecular Engineering, together with Professor Yisheng Xu from the School of Chemical Engineering at ECUST, proposed an original “monomeric state-aggregated state” decoupling strategy, offering a new direction for NIR-II theranostics.

Recently, the team led by Professor Dahui Qu and Associate Professor Ruirui Gu from the Feringa Nobel Prize Scientist Joint Research Center, School of Chemistry and Molecular Engineering, ECUST, made new progress in dynamic combinatorial chemistry. The research, titled “Host-Directed Discovery of Dynamic-Covalent Guests from Dynamic Combinatorial Libraries,” was published in Angewandte Chemie International Edition (2026, e7195803).

Recently, the journal Advanced Science (Q1, CAS Top Tier, IF=14.1) published the latest research from Professor Liming Zhao’s team at ECUST on the regulation of the gut microbiota by functional oligosaccharides. The paper, entitled “Oligosaccharides with Defined Glycosidic Bonds Shape Gut Microbial Succession and Metabolism via Bond-Specific Microbial Responders” (DOI: 10.1002/advs.77488), investigated the relationship between the structures of functional oligosaccharides and the gut microbiota.

To address this challenge, the team put forward a strategy to modulate intermolecular interactions in perovskites via deprotonation. Partial deprotonation of amine cations induced by alkali metal hydroxides weakens intermolecular forces and reduces melting enthalpy, thereby enabling low-temperature melting.
